RED CROSS GOLF CLASSIC
Event materials to announce the Red Cross Gold Coast annual classic.
The Red Cross Classic was an annual fundraising event that invites golfers from the Sacramento area to participate. I was really excited to give back to the community with my abilities as a graphic designer, especially with an organization with a worthy cause. This was the only project I was able to work on for the Red Cross but it helped me become well acquainted with their unique style guide, which I used to inform every element of my design.
Once the image was decided on I based my design around the golf ball at the center. I wanted the overall design to be a little playful but still remain sophisticated. I chose bright red not only to pop against the clean gray and white background image but also because it fell in line with their branding. I placed a red cross on the golf ball because it mimicked their logo and made the viewer aware that this was an event benefiting the Red Cross. This overall design was carried from the postcard to the website banner that was displayed on the Red Cross’s site so the design needed to be adaptable to both print and web mediums.
Hierarchy was an important objective for the save the date postcard. I needed to balance the amount of information that was included for golfers interested in the event and also leave certain areas blank for the post office to print on when the cards were sent out.
