ABOUT
Creativity is a trait that has been deeply ingrained in me since I was a child. When I was a kid, I spent a lot of my free time drawing, painting, doing crafts and designing outfits for my future self. As I got older my attention turned to layout design, typography and when I discovered magazines like Eye, Print, Communication Arts, Juxtapoz and so many more. It’s my love of art and design that spurred me to become a graphic designer.
Earning my B.A. from the Design and industry program at San Francisco State University was one of the best experiences of my life. The sense of community and the encouragement from professors to be playful and curious weren’t aspects that I expected to find in an academic setting but my experiences there ended up shaping my outlook on design and my work. The department’s aim was to give us a holistic understanding of design, so I got the chance to learn about a lot of different areas of study like web design, user interface, packaging and even product design but my love still lies with print work. I know it’s said to be a dying field but I still find the process of taking a concept and turning it into a flushed out idea magical and satisfying.
I’ve been working in the Graphic Design field since 2016. My experience in the field has informed the way I approached any given project. I look for unique but relevant solutions for any given problem and I try to bring a clever outlook to my work. I’ve gained experience meeting real world deadlines. Listening to clients wants and needs and balancing them with a thoughtful and elegant outcome.
I’m constantly looking for projects that will push my creativity. In the past I’ve taken the opportunity to give back to my community by doing freelance pro bono graphic design work for the American Red Cross Gold Country and Cheza Nami, a non profit that brought African culture to families in Livermore. It’s not something I can do all the time but I try to do whenever I get the chance.
Though I specialize in print work, I also possess some web design skills and am eager to develop them. Additionally, I enjoy drawing, sketching, painting, photography, bookbinding, and hand lettering. And I relish any opportunities that combine my work with these interests. Have a project in mind?
